I bought this cold side intercooler pipe upgrade off of Rudys ebay store and the quick connect coupling part is to big. It just rattles around on the butterfly throttle body. Has anyone ran across this? Am i missing a step or is it just to big?
No I didn't. There weren't any instructions to the new one. So I am suppose to take an O ring out of the old one and put in it? I was hoping I was just missing a step.
There is an o-ring inside the factory one. If your kit didn't come with one, then you will need to swap it over. I am not familiar with the brand that Rudy's sold you, but the H&S version needs the o-ring from the factory unit.
Well took the factory one back off and pulled the O ring out and tried it on the new coupler. Still doesn't work. Coupler is just way to big, even with the O ring it rattles around on the butterfly valve connection.
I have to wait till Tuesday for them to answer the phone. Bad thing is I have a 1200 mile trip pulling a trailer on Thursday and I really wanted this fixed before I head out. After looking at pictures of the mishimoto pipe on the net the one I bought from Rudys eBay it looks exactly like it. Just doesn't say Mishimoto on the boots.
I had a similar issue last summer when my cold side pipe blew, luckily if was close to home. Anyways I bought a cold side kit from XDP, and it had the same problem the piece was way to big. I called up Mishimoto and they said that some kits went out to distributors and some parts weren't machined right. They acknowledged the mistake and overnighted the correct parts free of charge.
I directly to Mishimoto because XDP couldn't get the parts quick enough.
Ok I have a fairly stupid question about this kit, there are 4 clamps one is 4 in one 3.5 in and two 3.25. My question is this, it is obvious where the 4 in goes but what about the other three all three locations are a 3 in boot which clamp location takes the 3.5?
