Well aside from the egr block offs but I will do that this weekend.
Installed everything in about 4 hrs with distractions and having to run to the store for a tool by myself. Used 3 methods given to me on here by un bolting the hangers from the truck, using racket straps to hold the DPF up then a jack to lower it down slowly to make sure everything was unplugged.
I love it but lord is it LOUD as hell! Might calm down after the pipes break in and the truck fully learns the tune though. Well see...
Had a hiccup this morning when I left it wouldn't boost, then it fluttered and came to life. Been fine since though.
I couldn't believe how loud mine was either! A lot louder than my 6.4! I'm still thinking about putting a muffler on, but haven't made up my mind yet. .
I see you're running Gearhead tunes. . How many tunes do you have to play with? How long does the Livewire take to tune your truck?
I will probably order a muffler just so I have the option but it seems to be calming down a bit. I was actually surprised that it doesn't really smoke much either even if I lock it in a higher gear from a stop. I have 4 tunes Street, Tow, Hot Street and Race. I have it on Hot Street right now and it's surprisingly quick! The tune took maybe 30 min total but it had to update. And to Luke@NoLimits surprise the WiFi did work! It connected to my home network and updated in the truck! I'd recommend it and I mounted mine at the top of the windshield behind my Limo strip not at the bottom where most people mount it. The only thing I need to figure out is how to get the Boost to read PSI right now it reads kPh and it's useless as it just wraps to 50 and doesn't match the factory gauge at all.
So far I love it. The tune was seemless and the fact that it connected to my WiFi and updated without me having to hook it up to the computer was awesome. It does way more than I need it to do at least at this point. And I wanted a tuner that I could constantly monitor so the X4 was out. The Spartan I didn't see where I could mount anywhere.
If I only had an extra hour in each day; heck, an extra hour each week Me thinks me is too busy and works too much ......
Lovely wife, children, job ........ y'all understand
as far as the flutter the OP meantioned. Im beginign to think its a normal function. when ever i give mine a little to much throttle befor im fully warmed up (i live about 5 miles form the interstate onramp) if flutters and wont build boot will even thro a check engine light with some random codes when ever i do give it enough gas to get it into boost befor im nice and warmed up. i avoide it at all costs but there have been a few times running late for work and ive stepped on it merging onto the interstate.
Exactly! It doesn't seem to do it as much on the Race tune though so it might have a little to do with the tune. It does it but not near as bad as on Hot Street.
How are y'all liking the race tune on your 16? I'm a bit nervous to run it on my baby. Worried about egts and turbo boost mainly. What kind of numbers are you seeing?
I'm not able to monitor EGT's yet but if I really get on it I can get about 37psi of boost out of it. I don't do it all the time though I mostly just drive it. I get slightly less MPG out of it over the Hot Street but not enough to complain and having the power there is worth it.
Mine does it too with a SCT with custom tunes just barely I noticed the other morning, winter is going to be ridiculous hope it warms up faster with a straight pipe. Seems als o that once it's almost warm it roles alo more coal!
