They're coming soon. Probably 6 months to a year before we get some delete parts on the market. Ben's diesel performance has delete tunes already..but it involves mailing your PCM to them to get bench tuned and then you reinstall the PCM, for a lovely $2500. Then I guess you make your own exhaust...I don't know if 11-16 exhausts will bolt up or not.
I'd wait till the market catches up, let the others be the guenna pigs...
I'm just curious here. To those who delete, you're not concerned about giving up your warranty? Also, 3 dealers in my area will not take a deleted truck on a trade in. I'm just curious about it being worth giving this up
Just like anything else warranty related, it all depends on the owner and how they feel about it. I've bought everything I've owned knowing that I'd end up voiding the warranty at some point so, needless to say I've never purchased an extended warranty. Some dealers are pretty cool with it and will help you out if the time comes, others not so much. As for trade it, most dealers won't touch a deleted truck because it's illegal to tamper with the emissions and they could be fined for having it on the lot, and some will say that putting them back to stock cost more than they'll make. I asked that same question when attempting to buy a deleted truck only to receive a call stating they had to send it auction because of said deletes.
I deleted my 2008, my 2012, and my 2015, but this one I am leaving stock. It has more than enough power and I will likely trade it in three years anyway and it is just too much of a hassle to worry about putting it back to stock at trade time.
If I were buying a truck and planning on driving it ten years I would delete it but for someone like me who trades often it doesn't make sense.
Question for this thread if yo delete the DPF what happens to the UREA tank and fluid? I assume this probably requires a new tune to the ECM so one doesn't throw a code or cause the truck to go into limp mode.
anyone have any confirmation of the origin of said "tequilla" tune. Apparently mexico trucks are only 300 hp and do in fact have EGR, i would be interested to know what the factory application of this tune is, and what the rating is supposed to be, since it makes more power than the 440/925 emission tune.
I will be a test dummy as well this weekend when i get my parts on
Ordered my delete package from NL.., can't wait for it to arrive!
