Just Deleted, ? on EGT's

I was just wondering what guys feel is safe for egt. I noticed its pretty easy to crest 1300 with my hs on hot. I plan on doing a lot of towing and driving this summer. If I leave my hs on stock, do I even need to worry about it?

JMHO but 1300 is not good for an extended period. I would not tow on hot. I think if you call hs, they would advise against it.

Yes....when you keep your foot in it for a bit....those EGT's get up there. It's something I had to get used to...compared to my 2002 DMax. Just be vigilant....don't let it stay up there for too long. I've read where guys have run theres up to 1400 for brief periods. Me...I like below 1200. Towing in the summer.....don't tow with the bigger tunes....or go with no added power. Great thing is.....you'll still be able to monitor EGT's.

2011 F 350 Lariat Ultimate CC, SB 4x4 with 6.7 PowerStroke. Sterling Grey Metallic. Stock rims, tires. Shocks are Bilstein 5160's...what an upgrade over stock!

2013 PW Boss Mustang with aftermarket fully adjustable suspension, Team Dynamic 18"x10" race wheels and 305mm Continental race slicks at all four corners....O/R X pipe, 84.5mm TB, Airaid cai, 47 lb injectors...tuned by AED...Life is fun in this vehicle!

Just run a tow tune or get an MCC file custom made for your needs i run the SPE " tow safe " tune on street power level and it tows heavy very well just keep the RPMs up around 2k use your gear lockouts to achive this keeping your RPMs up will flow more air and keep your EGTs down sometimes the boost will climb pretty well but its agressive fueling that causes high EGTs not high boost just stick to that and you will never see EGTs over 1200 even when pull 18k around the Sierra Nevada foothills
