EGR Delete - yes or no?
So the truck is in the shop getting a head gasket job done and I am thinking, while it is in there, why not go ahead and delete the EGR on it? Good idea right? Well, talking to the guys at Alligator Performance, they said that the EGR acts as a wastegate somewhat to help reduce drive pressure cause FoMoCo didn't include one in our $65k trucks...so now I am torn on whether to delete and have accurate pre-turbo egt readings, or leave on there to help from lifting the heads again when pulling a 9000 lb trailer with 15000lbs of oilfield equipment on it through the Rockies ... any input would be greatly appreciated.
