PlastiDip

I love this stuff!!! I have a new technique. Clean the surface, tape off about a 2" distance around the emblem to allow you to peel cleanly away from the emblem. I warmed it up with a heat gun after every coat, seemed to smooth it out really good.

This is exactly how I'm going to do mine. How did you peel out the area around the 6.7?

I didn't, but you can using a tooth pick or one of those plastic toothpicks. I've been using this stuff for a while on my previous truck. Since the leaf thing has edges on it, I used a toothpick to lift up an edge and it came off perfectly.

Awesome. Do you wait till it completely drys, or when it's still wet-ish?

Since I was using a heat gun, it was blow drying it at the same time. I waited till it was cool and pealed it. Make sure you leave about one or two inches exposed on the outside of the badge, spray right onto the exposed area as if you're painting it as well. That way you can peel the border (exposed area) off clean, no need for a blade or anything. Spray a light base coat, let it sit for a few minutes then spray thicker coats.

That stuff is the best. Found a place local that stocks the colors and not just black. I have been doing some damage with the red can. Hahaha

On the eighth day, God created PlastiDip. Youtube has guys doing entire vehicle paint jobs with it...lots of people are blacking wheels out with it too...on my Tundra I did the grille and it held up wonderfully...after at least 30K miles it still looked like the day I sprayed it.

How do you wash this stuff, like im sure if u directly sprayed it with a power washer it would flake but do you have to buy the wash kit or is it just like washing your truck?
