I've been battling this myself and like you I have found it can really put you in a Dangerous Position.
Their stand on this,.. They feel that our trucks will be worked harder on average than the normal driver, therefore stressing the drivetrain more. so lowering the power will give more longevity.
Our trucks don't have the Dual Boost Turbo which is so highly pushed in the Sales DVD that encouraged us to buy this truck. Sadly there is no identifying marks to let us know this other than knowledge that the cab/chassis trucks are dfferent.
One step further is, Their attempt to give us more Longevity has backfired on them/us since our turbos have a high fail rate.
Stay watchful of any turbo noise and be sure to voice your thoughts to Ford. Hoping if enough of us handle this correctly they will eventually upgrade us to the proven engine setup, when ours fail. I am on my second turbo now.
