4" or 5" exhaust?

I know this has been beat to death in the older model sections but haven't heard many comments on th 6.7. I am going to do a 4" or 5" delete exhaust like tomorrow or so and was wondering what is everyones experience with them. I'm not using a muffler. I'm either going AFE 4" or MBRP 5" would consider AFE 5" if one existed. How is the sound difference between the 2? What about just the delete pipe, for the stealth look?

You can get some pretty decent videos with sound on YouTube...That's what I used to help me make my decision. Part of it depends on how loud you want your exhaust. I needed mine to be reasonable....don't want to tick off my neighbors when I get called in to work at 1,2 or 3 am. I went with a 4" MBRP with muffler...very satisfied. I had a full 4" turbo back on my 2002 Duramax...it was a Silverline in T 304...man was that some great stainless. Bad thing was...it was fairly loud and resonated at freeway speed....I mean a varying drone. It was reported that 5" on a D-Max caused a lot of resonance....but guys here can speak to 5" on the Scorpion. Not saying the 5" on ours would be bad...I would just recommend getting input from guys who have that on their rig.

Good Luck....Enjoy the upgrades!!!

2011 F 350 Lariat Ultimate CC, SB 4x4 with 6.7 PowerStroke. Sterling Grey Metallic. Stock rims, tires. Shocks are Bilstein 5160's...what an upgrade over stock!

2013 PW Boss Mustang with aftermarket fully adjustable suspension, Team Dynamic 18"x10" race wheels and 305mm Continental race slicks at all four corners....O/R X pipe, 84.5mm TB, Airaid cai, 47 lb injectors...tuned by AED...Life is fun in this vehicle!

I have a 5" Mbrp on my truck and I dont consider it to be loud. The drone isn't really noticeable either. From what I've heard, the 4" is just a little quieter and not as deep.

I went with a MBRP 5" DP back no muffler and it was too loud for me. With light throttle it wasn't bad but half throttle on it did draw unwanted attention. After full throttle blasts I could hear it echo off buildings and mountains.

I got a 5" stack muffler 48" X 10" with a baffle at a local truck shop for $72. It bolted right in with no cutting and I absolutely love the sound. Not much louder than stock at low RPM but has a much deeper tone. Getting on the throttle hard it just sounds mean without those high deciples.

Me and my buddy did it last nite. This thing runs so much better now. I wasn't impressed at all with DPF on tuning. Pulls like a champ. Guess its time for a vid.
