Can you tell me the advantages/disadvantages are of the oiled/non-oiled filter setup?
Please PM me the prices
Both Filters Synthaflow (Oiled) and the SynthaMax (Non-Oiled) will flow more than enough air and both will offer excellent filtration.
The Main advantage to going with the SynthaMax NON-Oiled filter is that is offers a bit easier maintenance, as you can use any type of household detergent such as Simple Green or 409 and you can skip the 3rd step of re-oiling the filter, so the cleaning procedure is a bit easier, however other than that it is simply just personal preference.
As far as cleaning procedures and maintenance, here is how it works out.
1. SynthaFlow (Oiled)
– Should be Serviced every 30-50K depending on environment. Spray with cleaner from AIRAID cleaner kit, let sit for 10 minutes. Wash from the inside out with a low pressure hose, let air dry. Once the filter is dry, you can Spray the oil on the outside of the filter, let the Oil wick through the whole filter, let air dry and Re-install.
2. SynthaMax (NON-Oiled)
– Should be Serviced every 15-30K depending on environment. Spray outside of air filter with any house hold detergent (Simple Green or 409), let that sit for 10 minutes. Wash the air filter from the inside out with a low pressure hose, let air dry and re-install.
