Has anyone heard of this kit. Supposedly will save your fuel system if the fuel pump goes south. I'm thinking about doing the kit along with the 2015-16 fuel pump. The pump is gonna work with the Borg Warner S 366 SX E. All in all what you think about the D R kit.
Well as many people that have done turbos on here I thought I'd get a better response. After looking into it, it will be on my list. Anybody want to research this Disaster Relief kit, here are some interesting facts to the matter.

One of our great customers just did an install and was kind enough to do a really nice video on it - if you are thinking of doing your own install, this might be very helpful:
I ordered this kit, got to the 1:39 marker in the video and couldn't get the air intake out due to the fuel filter mounting bracket being dang near impossible to remove (didn't cover it in the video). There was a bolt that looked like it was holding the mount in from upside down, as in the head looked to be facing the engine- two were up and accessible and the third, down towards the block. I was at a loss.
I threw in the towel at that point and Accurate diesel graciously returned most of the money spent.
Still might reorder if I can figure out how to get the plastic air dam out.
All bolts were removed and one went into never-never land & had to be replaced. The darned air intake just lacked the clearance to be removed from the hole it lives in.
We are going off memory (which is not photographic, unfortunately) since we don't have a 6.7L in the near vicinity at the moment, but if we recall correctly, we think that the "upside down" bolt you are referencing is the stud that holds one of the two supply and return line clips just under the hot-side charge pipe. When you first look at it, it does appear that it holds the housing down, but it does not. There are three separate bolts that do that. You will still need to take the nut off of that stud in order to free the fuel line clip, but it does not have to be accessed from the bottom side.
The air intake actually can be removed without removing the fuel filter - but it is definitely much easier with the filter removed. See attached pictures showing the locations of the three bolts that hold the filter.
Looking at your pictures I think it was the one behind the housing toward the firewall that I missed.
I removed two ( going off of memory) but guess I missed the third.
Since this gets brought up once every two days I have it copied:
Just so everyone knows.... this kit ONLY protects one form of pump failure. It only protects IF the bearings/cam/lifters in the crankcase of the pump fail. It does not protect failure of the plungers and barrels that pump the fuel..... if you run contaminated fuel (90% of fuel pump failures in my estimation) the pistons that actually pump the fuel can score, degrade and cause metal transfer and failure of the ENTIRE fuel system regardless of having the "prevention" kit installed or not.
My recommendation is to run good fuel, change filters every 5k (whether you like it or not) and if you have a high mileage truck spend $1000 and put a fresh pump in before failure and net a little power to boot.
$1000 for a new pump that probably puts out more fuel than your old one or $350 to hope it doesn't fail... I know my opinion on it.
Regardless of having the kit or how many miles your pump has, I highly recommend 5k filter intervals along with regular water drain and using known good fuel. That imo is the only sure fire why to prevent most cases of pump failure.
Not trying to knock the prevention kit, but it's not the be all, end all that everyone thinks it is. It is a nice concept and if you already have one I wouldn't take it off. Just not the right place to spend money.
Thanks for the info. I'll probably still end up putting one on. It can't hurt. I will also like do some extra filtration on the low pressure side.
