Back in Aug I posted; I joined to add my two cents some day about a problem I'm experiencing and hope to visit a dealer again tomorrow. My problem is making oil and seems to be more rapid when not pulling.
2011 F350 DRW CC Long Bed 46K miles.
That tomorrow visit resulted in me have a oil sample taken and the oil changed. This was a different dealer than I bought the truck but was aware of everything. When completed I questioned if they had either checked the oil level before draining or measured the oil drained. No to both questions. I received the oil analysis results, no problem, very low fuel in oil.
I finally made a little block to prevent the dipstick entering the last inch and checked the oil way. Yes the crankcase had been overfilled an inch ( actually 2 quart as discovered later). As the oil got a little blacker it appeared the oil wicked higher up the cable dipstick, but using the little dipstick block, the oil was always on the plastic dipstick end at the same place.
The next oil change was at the dealer I purchased the truck from. We checked the oil several times before it was drained. After the oil was added they checked and the vehicle was only at full mark. It seems that fills were made as if the engine was previous engine 7.3 or one of the 6's. They charged for the 13 quarts.
How can the dealers constantly overfill the 6.7 after 3 years of service.
