tip for anybody getting turbo warranty work

Before you take ur truck in to get the turbo replaced under warranty which is a matter of when not if, change the air filter! There using that as an excuse not to cover my turbo that only has 10k miles on it. Thought everyone should know

What gets me is they said the filter was dirty as they ever seen but the little gauge that sucks in when the filter is plugged wasn't sucked in all the way. It was in some but not in the red. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't feel this bill should be on me!

If you are within the regulations of the manual, meaning that it wasn't time to replace it or it didn't say to then no, that bill should not be on you. Make sure you take a picture of the filter and the indicator to have for your records and then raise some H-E-LL. I would call ford too.

I'm going to see what I can do. I'm afraid if I say to much they will just bring up its dog deleted and get out of it that way. The service guy said they already condimed the truck what does that mean? I wonder if I can replace the air filter and take it somewhere else?

I'm pretty sure condemned it means they marked it in the system as warranty being denied or void. If so then taking it to another dealer won't work unless you find a more "friendly" dealer. And with it being deleted that might not happen.

The dealer its at didn't care that it was deleted they said as long as it didn't cause the problem no worries. They warrantied the last turbo with no problems 10k miles ago
