Truck fell on it's face today

well just a minute ago on the way home from work i turned off on a road and got on it a pretty good bit.

well after about a two seconds the truck just shut off. i thought great there goes the motor, but after fighting it to the side of the road i put it in park, cut the key off, and it cranked right back up. it isn't making any noises and runs great. i guess i should mention i'm tuned and deleted with h&s, but the programmer has never been updated since i got it. so i took the card out and updated it.

you think this is something that i should worry about?

This is something I most definitely wouldn't shrug off. Luckily you were at a place you could safely pull off. If you were on a bridge or something, you'd be SOL and in danger. As ^^^^ said, call H&S.

Probably a glitch with Defuel Settings. H&S will know.

Yeah I'll give them a call when they open up just to be safe.

i called them and he said that it probably just ran out of fuel, but there wasn't really a way to tell what went wrong without a code or anything. anyways i downloaded spe's hot x tune today and it seems great, but it's raining out so i cant really test it.

Just a tip you probably know, if you're on the highway, instead of fighting it over to the side with no power brakes or steering, I'd throw it into neutral and try to fire it up real quick. Just my 2 cents

Oh yeah that's the smart thing to do lol. If it does it again I'll do it like that. I just figured the motor blew or something so there was no way to crank back up.

My dad had a 7.3 or 6.0 years ago that would randomly cut off pretty frequently so he got good at just shifting and cranking it back haha.

I had a Audi turbo gasser that would shut down like that without warning. I did get good at clutching it, and restarting the thing on the fly; at 70 mph on the freeway in traffic! Audi figured it was the max torque sensor sending false signals to shut down and save the engine. I know our turbo Powerstrokes are designed to defuel and reduce power under certain conditions, like over temp, over boost, or no DEF. I didn't know they would simply switch off.
