Turbo went boom

Coming home from a weekend fishing trip pulling the boat, started off from a red light and the truck make loud noise and started pouring coal out of the tail pipe. Runs fine just no boost and black smoke. Turbo definitely doesn't sound good though. Have it towed in tomorrow.

Isn't it great? Mine died about a week ago. Luckily it happened in my driveway. I'm not putting another stock pos in it because it will just happen again, and probably not in my driveway.

I have blown 3 turbo's in my 2012 F-350 Lariat, it went back to stock for warranty. The H&S Mini Max tuner is being sold. Some people swear by these tuners others say theses 6.7's are not designed for aftermarket products. Only 42,000 miles .....$57,000....3 blown turbo's. Egr code now coming up waiting now for a new valve....All because an intake and tuner?

I don't think your turbo problems are due to your performance bolt ons. Ford has been having trouble with their turbos. One of my friends works for an oil company in the Eagle Ford Shale and they have only Fords with 6.7s now. Multiple turbo failures on their 350s and even more on the 550s. Their trucks are bone stock.

That sucks to hear just paid $3576 for extended warranty, sounds like I'll be trading this one in soon, and go back to Dodge but, this is an awesome riding truck. Thank you

Not yet Shawn.....they called today and were waiting for approval from Ford. Said it should be ready Wednesday. Don't plan on tuning it again until the warranty is out. To much of hassle changing all that stuff out.

Its not the intake and tuner its the turbo, there are just as many if not more stock trucks blowing turbos too. Its just a hard to balance design.

This seems to be a lot more common recently, so would expect that they step up and cover the cost.
