Dealer Replaced Short Block.. Questions

I'm in the market for a 2011 F250 6.7L

I've got my eyes on one with 97k miles, but the dealer says they replaced the short block due to a sound and it's covered under a 12,000 mile/12 month warranty.

Should I look elsewhere? Why would they have to replace the S/B already?

Yeah it just freaks me out that something else might need to be replaced, but it's a good deal on the truck

I would contact the original owner BEFORE purchase... there is always a reason late model vehicles are on the lot..

need to find out when the engine was replaced. Two of the trucks we had the engines replaced have failed again. Come to find out, the replacement engines had the same valve issues... they have since been replaced with engines that have the updated valvetrain components.

We have been told by FORD MOTOR CO. that there is nothing that can be done for our 2011 F-350 6.7 casastrophic engine failure (bad valves fractures) truck has 150K miles. Have been told by Ford mechanic that he has seen 7 others with the same issues and Ford Motor has agreed to replace a hand full. What is wrong with that picture. Any one else have the similar issues? We are seeking an attorney due to this.
