Regen/Fuel Mileage
Has anybody else had this problem...
Anytime my truck says "cleaning fuel filter" my gas mileage drops in 1/2 and doesn't go back to normal till after I turn the truck off and back on. I have watched it on cruise control on the highway go from 19MPG to 10MPG after the regen and not return back to normal. Any clues? Thanks |

i know i see people post about crappy milage during regen but i have not seen this with my 6.7. i even have reset as soon as i see regen worst case i maybe add 1l per 100km usually less than that. i will be curious to see what others say.

Mine did the same before i deleted, i was seeing about 19mpg and when regen started dropped down to about 10mpg. mine usually stayed in regen between 10-14 minutes highway driving, and if i watched my instant fuel mileage guage, as soon as the 10-14 minutes were up and came out of regen, my mileage went back up to 19mpg.
Pi$$ed me off every time it went into regen, thats why im deleted now and im seeing on avg. 20.5-23 mpg @ 65-75mph on highway but if yours is staying in regen, maybe you have a bad sensor in the exhaust. several guys on here have experienced this. maybe take it into your dealer. |

I get 15-16 on my display, 10 mpg hand figured. The regen doesn't seem to affect it as I am usually hauling a water or fuel tank in the bed and the regen doesn't happen often. The couple of times I've messed with resetting the fuel mileage display there has been a considerable drop in "predicted" mileage during regen but it comes up when regen is complete. You probably should get it into the dealer if your not seeing an improvement after regen. Good luck.

Are you driving it long enough to let the regeneration finish, there isn't a message to let you know when its done.

As others have said i would go see the dealer and have they checked. Seems odd to me to kill the milage that bad. Josh |

Mine never drops during a regen. I have noticed it regening more often now that I'm low on DEF and that seems to have hurt mileage slightly but nothing drastic. Usually I average one regen a tank and get 18-18.5 hand calculated. With it regening 2-3 times a tank now I'm down to a consistent 17-17.5mpg hand calculated.

I never saw better than 16.5 on the gadge with stock tires, and now with 37's,15.3 on the gadge, if I calculate myself 13 mph );~(
