6.7 Turbo surging.
I have a 2011 F250 with the 6.7 in it. When I set the cruise control the turbo will surge from 10 pounds of boost to 0 pounds of boost, then it will level itself off...I don't know if it has been doing it all along and I just noticed it or if it just started doing it. I would greatly appreciate it if some of ya'll could keep you eye on your boost gauge. It ONLY does it with the cruise set, No bogging down or hesitation what so ever.

Mine does it too. I've brought it up on the forum before and its not real uncommon. Mine will do it for the first few miles after i set the cruise then smooth out and work fine.

Mine also does the surging, I pulled a dump trailer around today some. After I unhooked the trailer and started driving it again and set the cruise it was pretty surge. But after a few miles it all went back to normal, I also have a afe on intake on my truck. I don't really think it's anything to worry about.

I've noticed mine does this as well, usually for 3 or 4 miles at highway speeds with the cruise set. But, when I watch my mini maxx display, there is no variance in boost, as it stays steady at 4 psi..... so, I wonder which gauge is right, the dash gauge, or my mini readout??

I've never watched the boost on the mini maxx when it does it, but the boost levels and defenitly moving. Mine rocks you back and forth in the seat when its surging.

Mine does the same thing. Thats what made me notice it, My head rocking everytime the turbo spooled up. My wife works in the service department at the nations 2nd largest Super Duty dealer so I get treated better than most when I go in for service and what not. I brought it in for the surging so she got a tech to go ride with me with the lap top hooked up and of course I COULDN'T GET IT TO DO IT!!! But he did say he didn't think it was detrimental to the turbo, more of a nuisance.

Mine does it as well, it drives me crazy. I have seen my 6.7 do it for 15-20 mins on flat ground with the cruise set just to see how long it would actually keep surging. Mine usually stops surging when I start climbing a hill. Now soon as it starts surging, I kick the cruise off for a couple mins then reset the cruise. Seem to fix it .

Mine also surges.. Ford is aware of the issue and will replace your turbo to fix the surge. I was told yesterday by a reputable Ford tech that elevation plays a role in the surge. I dont know where you are all at, but I live at about 4500 ft. and mine surges real bad. He also mentioned that he thinks there has been a redesign within the turbo that eliminates this issue. Take it in for a fix or leave it, its up to you.
