Eccelaration issue at stop light?

Ok, so I start my truck today to go pick up my son. The way it started was as if it were 20 below outside. It was in the 80's. It seemed to get worse and worse the more I drove it. When stopped at traffic lights it took over 20 seconds to finally respond to my foot having the peddle to the floor. I didn't want to turn my truck off after picking him up late for that matter. So when we got back in and put it in reverse the entire truck shut down and turned off. After restarting it it's running fine. I mean you can feel a little something at hi speeds, but nothing like it did. At some points I had to have my hazards on so people could go around me. It idles fine. I'm puzzled please help. Oh I'm sorry, it's an 05 6.0
