Odd turbo noise at cold start

Dads 6.7 makes a weird "siren" like sound when first started for the day. Like after sitting overnight, it does it for like the first 10 minutes. It is RPM dependent (told dad to avoid driving it until noise clears up after a little idle time) it sounds like the turbo is the source of the noise. I will post a vid in the morning. Thanks guys!

Mine does this too, sounds like a reverse alarm or something usually lasts about a minute or two. Almost like its bleeding off boost pressure in small increments when cold, noisey wastegate maybe?? It you poke your head under the side of the truck when its doing it it almost sounds like its coming from the fuel filter area so who knows? Of course it wont ever do it warm so its hard to show the dealer. Let me know if find anything out.

After posting this from my phone last night, I found another thread about this noise. It is not unusual and is believed to be a valve or something associated with the EGR system.

my 2011 does the same thing. I travel alot on hunting trips, and ive found that in colder weather it is alot louder. im concerned about it but its always warm and quiet at the dealer. already got 39000 miles on mine. On another note, Ive got a squeak in my dash somewhere around my steering column. Up or down pressure on the steering wheel makes it stop for a few minutes. It sounds about like a styrofoam cup squeaking in a cup holder. DRIVES ME INSANE. its also inconsistent, so ive not been able to get it to occur while at the dealer. Anyone else have this problem?
