Are you maybe referring to the lower fuel filter assembly along the frame?

Should be drained for about 20 seconds once a month to clear any water that it has scrubbed from the diesel fuel.

Only other thing would be the oil pan....but I am sure you're not referring to this, right?

Where is the best place to get the coolant test kit and the Ford diesel fuel additive?

I drain my DFCM monthly but have yet to sea any water, using Shell #2 Diesel Fuel.

My wife works in the service dept at our local Ford Dealer (2nd largest Super Duty dealer in the nation) so I hear the $14,000 uh oh's that happen due to not draining the DCM...So EVERY Sunday mine gets drained.

Call me nuts, but I look forward to draining mine. I love the smell and the interaction with my truck. I do live in Ohio where the daily activities include watching corn and beans sway in the breeze!

Reading the diesel supplement, I don't see anywhere where you need to drain the DCM monthly, only when water is in your fuel. Or do you all just see WIF so much you drain monthly?

I've never seen the water in fuel message, but I still drain my DFCM often. You can get bad diesel and not have any idea, so its better to just be safe rather than sorry and do it as a precautionary maintenance
