Fuel sending unit?
So my truck died on the way to work. Got it going again and it got me home fine. Left it in the heated garage for a few days thinking maybe it was the fuel gelling since it was very cold out. Then it wouldn't start at all.
Get it towed to ford and they say that it is the fuel sending unit. And there aren't any in Canada or the US. To top it off they first tell me that it won't be covered under warranty because it would be under basic warranty and I am past that. I then tell them that I have $4000 in extended warranty. They say they will phone back. Ok so it would be covered under extended warranty BUT there is a fitting on the fuel sending unit that is busted, so it looks like it has been tampered with so again no warranty. Tried to tell me it must have happened when I got my Titan tank installed which was over 3 years ago. I think this problem would have popped up before now if that was the case.
So now I have a $1400 bill to expect if they ever get this part in. They are thinking a month. What a f***ing joke. Anyone else ever hear of problems with the fuel sending units? I can't find anything on the new models.
