Exhaust fumes in the cab

My truck is a 2011 6.7 F350. When the truck is "cleaning exhaust filter" I get a strong smell of exhaust fumes in the cab when I stop at a red light while the heater is running. However, I can turn the heater off and the smell goes away. I was wanting to know if anyone else has experienced this problem.

Thanks

I thought it was just me, my wife said it is much worse in the 2011 than it was in the 2008. We will be sitting at a stop light and more times than not she has to ***** about it. I just figured it was a result of the Spartan tuner and the Spartan exhaust system.

I had this problem and found THIS LINK in another forum. It's an 'exhaust pressure sensor" that is not well seated. Mine was very loose. Got a wrench on it and tightend it up. Went through regen right after and had no fumes.

I have been having this problem as well. Sometimes the fumes are so strong that it makes me nauseous. Thanks for posting the link. I will check that out tomorrow.

Thanks for the info. My computer won't open the link so I'll have to wait till tonight. Where is the exhaust pressure sensor located exactly? My truck is completely stock.

I'm not sure where the heater intake for the cab is.

It is on the passenger side where the exhaust pipe comes down off the engine. It is waaaaaaay up there and a long reach.

The post I referenced has a good picture of the offending sensor. It is a tube that goes directly into the exhaust down pipe with a brass nut. I couldn't see that the nut was loose, but reaching up and getting a hold of it it was not threaded at all.

It might be easier to access it if you take the passenger fender wheel off. I think I used a 15mm wrench on it after getting it hand tightened.
