Easy tailgate emblem mod!

I'm sure many have done this, but for those who haven't are concerned I'll tell you it's a breeze! I ordered a new emblem off of eBay for $50. It's painted to match my king ranch theme. I was worried how hard it would be to pull old emblem off. Within 10 mins I had old emblem off and new one installed. I used a small pry bar, a little heat and a towel (to avoid scratches). Figured the sticky adhesive would be a pain but it rolled right off. A little alcohol scrubbing and it was good to go!

Here's one made by DefenderWorx® for a tailgate emblem with back-up camera. At first they sent me one intended for no back-up camera. However, they sent me a tailgate emblem designed for the F-150 with back-up camera, which ended up being the same size. I still have the tailgate emblem designed for no back-up camera, which I think is 9 inches across. There is a slit on the underside of the rear tailgate emblem w/ camera which lets you pop it off with a pocket knife or thin screw driver. Unfortunately, it was close to $200 for me to buy matching front and rear emblems from DefenderWorx® and the grille emblem WAS NOT "Plug & Play".

Looks good dantron! I hadn't front end painted to match and got my painter to do grill emblem also. He wouldn't do my back one, So I found this one on eBay. Happy with them both!

Try again

I have the same color scheme. I plan to do the same. Here's the picture flipped.

Looks good! I replaced mine with black ones. The best way I found to remove them is with some fishing line. I used power pro. Just saw the adhesive behind the emblem then peel adhesive off

Thanks man! Yea I forgot to mention I used that as well. I kept getting hung up on the 3 line up tabs that are on these tailgate emblems but it did help for sure! Where did you get your black emblems at?
