Factory bed extender

I would like your comments on your Ford Factory bed extender. Like, dislike why, uses, tonneau cover users also.

Also who installed their own ford bed extender and did you have to drill the box?

Thanks for the comments!

i dont have the new style truck. mine is an 09. I did use it, but to me it was a pain as i like to use the tie downs in the bed. made it difficult to do so with the bed up. also haul a 4 wheeler, so it really didnt do me much good to have on. sitting in the shed collection dust for the last year.

The bed extender works with tonneau covers. I've used it with a Bak Flip F1 and a Roll n Lock. Both close when the extender is pushed to the sides in its closed position. There's room between the top of the tonneaus and the bed extender. Like Big Smokey said, tie down points are very difficult to access when the bed extender is in the closed position. I bought some quick hooks and axle straps and put the quick hook through the factory tie down and the axle strap to extend the tie down point so I don't have to reach in behind the bed extender when it's closed.

Mine on my 08 works just fine with my bak flip tonneau cover. I have only used it once extended but love it flipped forwards for holding stuff from sliding forewords.
