Tailgate step ?

I have become the lucky owner of a Tailgate from a 2012 F250 Lariat , it has the camera and the step installed, my 250 is oxford white and the step gate is close but appears to have metal flake, can I install the step, handle etc into my xlt non step tailgate ? Are the parts interchangeable ?

If you have the same model tailgate, yes.
Then you can sell me the non step gate

So your saying the guts can be changed out ? The tailgates appear to be the same on the outside, both are 2012's after I swap out the step, I will have no use for the rest of it, it's perfect in condition, it was left behind at a buddies wrecker yard from a totaled lariat.

I don't think you can just swap the internal bits over. I thought there were internal structural parts that cannot be added.

I could be wrong though!!!

Cheers,

I am pretty sure the internals are different on the "step" tailgate. The provisions for the step are welded and therefore can not be swapped.

The parts are definitely NOT interchangeable. I tried that when I dropped the 5er on my bed. It is a completely different part all together as there is a brace inside the gate with a step.

How many different whites did they make in 2012, my new step gate is dusty but appears to have a silver metal flake, my truck is oxford white.

There is oxford white and the tri-coat white which has the metallic flake in it.
