Recon Illuminated Emblems

So I ordered the Recon illuminated emblems earlier this week and put them on when they arrived yesterday. The install was fairly easy, only took about 45mins. The only complaint I have about them is the retaining clips that came on the new emblems suck. They don't stay attached to the plastic tabs on the emblem, therefore not making a secured fit. I removed the galvanized clips from the factory emblems and put them on the Recon ones. I wired it to the number one upfitter switch and grounded it the chassis ground located right above the brake booster.

A minor detail that I realized about it after they arrived was that they don't have the "Lariat" cutout.

Would you consider selling the OEM emblems?

Boy, all I can say is very best of luck with them.. Recon came out with those for the 05-07s few years ago, I got a amber set for the sides and a red set for which I put one on the tailgate. Within a month water started getting in side causing black spots, then a few weeks later they quit working. They were junk from day one and Recon pulled them.. I sure hope for your sake they done better with these.. They do look awesome, as long as they work..

I do agree with the OP though, they're great but they're missing "Lariat" on the emblems. That would make them complete.

Yep exactly, most recon products end up with the same or similar issues, don't buy that grossly overpriced Chinese crap. You could make your own set of those for half the price and I bet you would put them together better
