Best tailgate assist?

Alright fellas, I want to install a tailgate assist for my truck and want to see which brand is the best. Anyone using one and have any feedback? Good or bad. Thanks.

I have a dee zee tailgate assist on my '11 it works great. There are a bunch of videos on you tube to check out the install. It was working great the first few times I used it. Then the shock popped off. It was a clearance issue. I contacted dee zee customer support , awesome to deal with. They had me take pictures and email them to r&d. They got back to me very quickly and asked for more pictures and a measurement of the shock. They said it would be a few days until they could get a truck to check out my problem. After this, they said they could not find any issues with their test trucks. R&d made me custom bracket for my issue and sent it next day. They even painted it white to match my truck! No more issues, works great.

I purchased mine at O'reilly's for $20. The brand is called EZDown It was the only brand O'reilly's has out on the shelves. I can't speak for the new tailgates, but for mine the Dee-Zee came down too fast compared to the EZDown.

Everything I have looked up shows either the EZDown or the Dee-Zee. Looks like I will have to try out the EZDown and see how that one goes. Thanks for the input.
