What are these??

I bought a 2wd front valance to replace my 4wd one. When i got down there to look things over, there are two metal brackets hanging down behind the existing valance. What are they and can they just be removed? Thanks.

If they're what I think you're looking at....I assumed they are there to keep us from rolling completely over the car we might hit. Instead of pulling a Gravedigger on them...I think it will dig in...but that is just my guess.

Welp, they came right off, and on went my 2wd valance. Now I can roll right on over a Prius and not break my valance in the process.

there was a big debate
I voted for a drive over protection

someone said it was to move it down the assembly line and that the end dealer was supposed to remove them

I couldn't buy that

The "L" brackets are to prevent us from swallowing a civic. Excursions have them in the rear too.
