Remote Tailgate Lock & Tailgate Opener

So... I'm interested in having a button in the truck that would pop the tailgate open using some sort of actuator or solenoid. I saw on the tundra forum a guy that did something similar. Has anyone done it to a new ford?

DeeZee makes a hood shock type thing that you can add to your tailgate so it doesn't slam down which I plan to add as well.

Also - is there a way to lock/unlock your tailgate when you lock/unlock the doors?

you shouldn't have an issue finding 1 of two common brands

they typically tie into the door remote

if you don't want it to cycle so much have your rear doors require the double unluck to operate

Is there a right up for this somewhere? Mine is a regular cab so no rear doors for me - but that does make more sense for the double unlock.

I drive with it down quite a bit. I'd be more interested in it being held down.

Ahhh I see! Ok now I want to be able to click a button and my tailgate opens smoothly, then another button that shuts it. Lol thought about fabbing up a license plate cover that is retractable that will do that but they'll just figure out who you are and fine you out the ying yang

See, I don't run with a tolltag. I don't run with a front plate. Their only hope is seeing my rear one. I just forget to put the tailgate down sometimes or my travels take me to tollroads and I don't want to stop, open it then keep going. So it would just be nice if I could push a button and it open. It'd probably freak some people out though opening lol
