Alternative to step tailgate

I just bought a 2011 King Ranch F350 Long Bed. As I am vertically challenged, I would like to add a step in front of the rear wheel in addition to the existing steps. I have a feeling that swapping out the existing tailgate for a step tailgate will be an expensive venture. In searching the web, I found a addon step: Bestop TrekStep Retractable Tailgate Step
Bestop TrekStep Tailgate Step, Bestop Trek Step Retractable Tailgate Steps

Does anyone have recommendation for the body steps.
Experience with the TrekStep?

Thanks.

I have the AMP Research Bedstep (they are the original and Made in the USA)

Well worth the price, provides an easy step, retracts easy, simple to deploy. Had thought about the side mounted steps but now I have a shell, not much reason to spend the money.

They are very proud of these and price it accordingly :-)

I just put one on my truck last weekend, and I love it.

Got mine here ON EBAY for $139. Took about an hour to install.
