2011 Mystery Part

We saw this when my truck was on the lift at the tire shop. The shop owner also has a 2011 and neither of us had ever seen it or knew what it was. Its behind the front bumper and there is one bolted to the frame on each side. It's the scoop looking bracket in the photo.

I think they are there just to help with the tall front valance so it doesn't break off as easy

Its for when you want to ram someones trunk lid but your truck is lifted just a smidge too much so they put those there to hit the trunk lid. :p

Lots of good guesses. Which one is right?

I may have to ask the parts guy at the dealer next time I'm there.

DING DING DING....WE HAVE A WINNER...04bblackcrewcab

They are lower collision bumpers, so if you rear end a smaller car, it will help so you dont just drive up on top of the trunk. I've installed a lot of grill guards and we have to remove them when the grill guard is installed.

So it really is a "scoop" of sorts to catch on the other vehicle.
