4.5" ICON Install issue

I'm currently installing an ICON 4.5" Stage 1 Radius Arm lift. The issue I am having is when installing the radius arm drop down brackets. I had to remove the transfer case skid plate to install them. When I try to reinstall the plate the passenger side fits into place, but the driver side will not. The part of the skid plate that was bolted to the frame will not fit between the drop bracket to allow it to bolt back to the same area. Am I supposed to mod the skid plate to fit? It would be hard to believe this lift would require not using a skid plate. All help is appreciated,

I'm using the instructions to install the lift, but they say nothing about the skid plate. All they mention is removing (3) screws to remove the exhaust bracket, The exhaust bracket does not interfere.

Passenger side showing the 2 holes that the skid plate bolt into.

Passenger side. The backet has 2 holes under neath, but none in frame.

Driver side showing were skid plate mounts.

This is what goes into above location
