You can make your trailer feed constant but removing the relay under the hood and jump the pins. Use two spade connectors and some 12ga. wire. The 12V feed has its own 30A fuse so you're protected.
Chevy and most Dodge's have the trailer feed hot all the time. I'm not sure why Ford chose the opposite.
