Wire on Passenger side mirror

I have a question that not even my ford dealership can answer. On my 2013 F250 diesel Lariat there is a plastic cover which looks like it has a dummy light bulb on it right under the passenger side mirror. If you pop the cover off there is a wire harness plugged into a dummy slot. What is this for? If it's for a puddle light why would it only be on the passenger side? It's really bugging me! Haha does anyone know?!

Sorry I don't have an answer, but my work truck is a 2012, XL gasser and it has that plug also. I'd like to find out myself. Mayb it's for something on the KR or Platinums? Dunno.

I checked a KR and platinum at the dealer and they have the same thing. The temp sensor would make sense, I'll unplug it from what looks like a dummy slot and see if the truck still reads the outside temp. Thanks for the replies!
