How to load songs into the stereo system

Does anyone know how to get songs into the stereo hard drive? I connected my iPod nano but couldn't find any way to load the playlist to the hard drive .

I couldn't find it in the manual either. Maybe the bloke who told me we had a pretty big hard drive to load songs onto was wrong?

There's no hard drive on the MFT systems. I use a 32 GB USB drive with almost all the songs in my music library. I need to upgrade to a 64GB drive shortly.

2013 and current are MyFord Touch CD systems are only a standard CD/MP3 CD reader only. There's no DVD player. The 2012 and prior nav radios used the DVD to update. Now we have the SD card so the HDD went away.

Just start a library of MP3s and copy to USB drive. It works great with the voice commands.

So can we watch movies with the MFT system, and could you with the 2012 and older nav systems?

No movies unless you hook up a DVD player to the aux input in the dash and use the Lockpick II to allow the video without being in park. The old nav with DVD can only play movies with the original Lockpick.

My 2011 had the factory Nav system with the 20GB hard drive in it. I had to rip songs from a CD. Just put it in and select a song or all then press record.

Bulk Load 2011-2012

I was told when I bought my 2012 that there was a way of bulk loading music. Is this true? does it have to be done from some sort of Windows compression format?since its based of Microsoft?

I think you made a typo; the older Nav system DID NOT need the lock pick to play DVDs, I played multiple in my '10 over the years, did have to be in park, but that's not an issue. You did need the Lockpick to allow you to play DVDs while in motion, but I didn't need that function.
Now with the MFT system it really is a PITA to play a DVD, I can't understand their thinking on doing the RCA jacks, if anything they should've put HDMI ports in there or just kept the in-dash DVD player.
