My F250 XLT didn't come with a remote start and I was wondering if there was a way to add it (like a module plug in or something). Figured the plugs and harness is already in the truck minus the module that operates it.
Probably have to get a new remote that has the button to start the truck as well. Any info is appreciated. If you know where you can pick one up please let me know.
I have 2011 F250 XLT and installed the factory remote start. I ordered it from the dealer, installed it myself which was very easy and had Ford program the keys and the truck. Works excellent. You won't know how you lived without it.
Yes, you can add a Ford factory remote start kit. There are two varieties: the regular one that can be optioned with the truck or a longer range remote that has a light confirming that the engine is in fact on. I would go with the latter.
Right on, well I just ordered the kit so Ill see how long it takes to get up here, sounds like I can have it installed in under an hr. Then I guess looks like a trip to the dealer to activate it.
The dealer I bought my truck from installs it for an additional $67. Might just have them do it even though I'm fully capable if it has to go for programming anyway.
