Sub Box/Sub Help

Howdy, I am going to be purchasing a BoxWorx sub box for my truck soon, and was hoping someone had some input on sound of the ported vs sealed. I am leaning towards the sealed, but am undecided. For the record I have the power rear slider so it will be a single setup.

Also, for a sub to put in it, I am leaning towards either the JL 13TW5 or Alpine SWR-T12. It will depend on which box I go with, as the ported only comes in 12".

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Also, any suggestions for amps would be welcome too, as my knowledge in this area is limited.

Thanks for your time.

I ordered my SPL2k boxworx box about a month ago and just did the single 13TW5v2-4 sealed (small version with power rear window). My old 2000 had two 10W4s from 1995 and they were ported. The 13 sounds just as dynamic as the two 10s maybe a bit better. I'm driving it with the JL XD600/1 with the source from a PAC SOEM-T line converter off the factory sub outputs. I kept everything else factory since it has the My Ford Touch.

Nope. Make sure you turn the bass setting on the head unit all the way down so the main speakers don't try to generate the low frequencies. It took a few weeks of awkward vibrations to figure that out.

I ordered the same SPL2K box for a single sealed 13-Tw5, havent installed yet, but hope to soon. The owner of SPL2K recommended to go with the JL 13Tw5 if going with the sealed route. If going ported, he suggested either Pioneers or Rockford shallow mount 12s. I have 2 sets of hertz components and the JL sub, to be powered by a JL 900/5, should sounds great once everything gets installed.

I ordered a 13" sealed box, and a 13TW5v2 sub. Just need to decide on the amp now, either a 600/1v3 or a XD00/1. Leaning towards the slash, but might depend if I end up upgrading the speakers as well.

Go with the alpine in the sealed box.there is a big discussion over at diymobleaudio.com about this. Or wait bait for the new stereo integrity coming out soon.

Already ordered the 13" box and a 13TW5v2. Will check out that site though. If i was to change my mind, can some sort of bushing be added to make the 12" fit in a 13" cutout?

I have the same LOC for my set up except I have it running off the door speakers and I get a pop on shut off. I am going to try moving it to the factory sub wiring connector to fix it and get a little better sound out of my sub. What wires did you connect yours to?
