Amp Research Power Step Wiring Help

Hey guys,

I got my passenger side front and passenger side rear to operate the steps on that side, but I can not get the drive side to work. I can get the driver side rear to work but its janky.

Can anyone post pix of their wire config so I can see what you put those 2 wires to?

Yes I have read the manual and will be calling the monday.

2013 F250 by the way...

I have about 6 lime green/purple wires FYI.


I do not have an OHM meter or know how it works. I assume you touch it to the wire and open the door and you get some readout? Otherwise it's at 0....?

Figured it out. There are like 6 lime green/purple wires in the weave. The dark green from AMP goes to the lime green solid color.

The dark green/purple AMP goes to one of the lime green/purples, you just have to try each one till it works.

Yep you got it, mine had the same # of green/purple and I had to ohm each one as well.

Somehow I got lucky and found the 4 wires for mine on the first try. I did walk away and read a little bit to get a couple of pointers. First, match the wires from the steps to the wires in the bundle, and more importantly, the wire size for the 4 door wires are all the same. The other green/purple wires I found were all a little bigger than the one I was looking for from the door. At least in my bundle, once I found the first door wire, the other ones seemed to be close together in the bundle.

I checked mine for resistance (ohm) to ground. They were grounded (some resistance showing on the multimeter) when closed and open circuit (no reading) when the door was open.
