Radio Satellite Module

Radio in my truck says "SAT FAULT" on it when you select one of the SAT channels - took it to the dealership and they said it needs a module. Called down to parts and they couldn't tell them a price so they can't tell me a price either. How much do these modules cost..??!!! Can I get one myself and replace it (how tough can it be???)?

Finally got a price...$300 for the module! Guys in the Service Dept. told me where it is located (behind the passenger side kick plate) so I will be in there to take a look and probably get a replacement from someone on the internet.

Update #3...looked behind the passenger's side kick panel - all I recognized was the fuse block. Went back to the internet and found a forum post telling me the module is up under the driver's side dashboard near the emergency brake lever. Stuck my head under the dash and there it was!! Amazing..!! Took it out and removed the covers - no fuse. Turned on the radio with the sat module removed and found that I now have no SAT1, SAT2, or SAT3 selections for the radio but it still says "Sirius Ready" when you turn it on which tells me that is a statement and not a notice from the module. It seems the radio WAS communicating with the module but nothing else. Hopefully, I can get a replacement from someone on eBay...

Update #4...bought another module from a guy on eBay for $65 out of a 2007 Ford Ranger. Even though it is slightly bigger the mounting holes were the same - hooked it up and worked perfectly. Has now got a subscription (with 3 free months); will be a joy to listen to satellite radio again on the one hour drive to work!!!
