2013 electrical system freak?

I bought my '13 last Dec., and was told at the dealership when I bought the truck that a new feature had been added to them starting 2012.5, I think. The feature is supposed to be some kind of intermittent electrical system scan where the truck reads itself to detect any faults. If any are found, that "leg" will be disabled. I was told this would prevent one from adding to or modifying the system. Any truth to this? Specifically, I'm curious about HID lighting here, can they be used in a '13 without the truck shutting them off?

Is it just me, or does it seem like all Dodge drivers are A$$holes?
