Get an Android.....

But seriously, I don't think the USB in these trucks is setup to provide power, only pickup data. Not 100% on this though as my 08 doesn't have a USB

Bump for you though!

Does your phone connect when you hook it up via the USB.
I know my phone and my Ipod both will charge with the USB.
i did have a issue with my USB and had to pull the Sync fuse to resolve the issue.

The USB port on the dash does charge, but very slowly. Charging rate is dependent on the amount of power conveyed by the port, and this can vary from one source to another. A plug in cigarette-lighter port gives you much faster charging. And if you're using a Lightning charging adapter with a 30-pin iPhone charging cord (this is to charge an iPhone 5 or a current iPod or iPad but without buying the new cord), you may not get charging power through the adapter.

My Droid charges through the USB on my '11 But very slowly.

My wive's Hyundai wouldn't charge her Ipod/pad through the USB in her car. After researching, the $30 USB to apple cord Hyundai sells as an accessory will charge them!

I play my music on my iPhone 5 through Bluetooth, I remember the USB charging slow as hell. I've had the cig lighter USB plug since I bought the truck, almost as fast as a wall plug!

Can't you use the factory outlet on the dash for charging?
