Two JL 13tw5's under rear seat.

Has anyone on here done this yet? I've seen some talk about the 13tw5's but mostly it's about trying to fit them behind the rear seat with the power back glass motor still there.

I was just thinking about it. I don't even have my truck yet but im planning some for when it comes in. I took some measurements from my fathers truck and it seems as though you have about 5 inches or so at the front of the rear seat to work with.

From just using some basic measurments there seems to be more than enough room for airspace under there. I think i'll build a downfiring box raised up about an inch or so and see if it will work.

I don't think you will have the room. The back of the speaker will be too close to the back of the box. They did make brackets to lift and move the seat up, but I didn't want to do that. I put 3- JL 8" W3's behind the seat. I'm satisfied! I'd love to see if you can pull it off.

Yeah i really don't want to move my seat any. I had a 2.5 inch seat lift in my 2006 f150 with two full size kicker cvr 12's under it and really like it but i didn't care for the higher seat.

As far as i know they make a box for one 13tw5 that fits under the seat so i think it's possible. Heck they only need 2.5 inches of mounting space which is pretty awesome. When i build it i will try to make the box atleast 3.25-4 inches tall.

It says that the tw5 has a max excursion of .383in. so i will raise the box about .5-.75 off of the floor.

I might start gathering some materials to build this box now, but i won't be able to really start until my truck arrives. It should have about 4 more weeks left.

I'll definitely keep this thread updated. Depending on how much interest there is I might building a few to sell online. I've got to build the first one first though.

i would go with 2 alpine SWR-T12 instead

Yeah i've heard of several people comparing the two. I'm not sure though if the box has room for the alpine since it is one inch thicker.

you could get the dual 12 box from Spl2K and mount the window motor to the top of the box like others have done
