Thats actually pretty cool I was thinking a front camera would be handy but then the inside trailer cam, what a great idea to watch loads.

Anyway, not to hijack this thread but is there a way to turn the camera in the back on without using reverse maybe an upfitter switch. Sometimes I want to see how close someone is on the highway.

Sure...using the steering wheel control you can activate the system (turn on the display) and select any of the connected cameras (or any available split view) at any time you like.

Well, when you say "factory setup" if you mean can the factory OEM stuff be made to do this without modification the answer is no. However, if you watch the video you will notice that I used all factory OEM parts (ie. steering wheel control, cameras, navigation unit). I did modify the steering wheel control, did some custom wiring and there are some custom electronics (hidden in the dash) I built to manage the cameras and display.

That said, the system (once installed) looks completely factory with the only hint of custom work being the artwork on the camera control button (you wont see any Ford buttons with the camera icon on it )

The only problem I see is that the left side lower button on the 2012 steering wheel is allocated now to the cruise control. However the button on the on the right lower side does not have anything on the left side of the button so do you think it could be put there or would an external switch be easier?
