Issues - anything over 5000K you're sacrificing light output for appearance and you're far more likely to run into issues with oncoming traffic and the law depending on where you live.

6000k here. Retro solutions. Bout $160-180. Had a couple issues with ballasts but they were very helpful and got it figured out and I'm very happy with them.

Great company, great product...Just need to expect a little longer for shipping... But for around $80 You can't beat the price and they are great.

I wouldn't go over 5000k...CERTAINLY not over 6000k because then you look like a civic with a fart can driving down the road.

I've been using HID's from Ebay seller XenonFactoryPro. $45 shipped with a 2 year warranty. I've had I think 8 different sets from him for my different cars and truck with only one ballast going bad out of all those. Had it resolved ASAP.

Hey barobbin.... how well do the swithchbacks match up with the 6k HID's... looking to do this install, probably get everything from ddm. I have had good luck with those guys. The ballasts look exactly the same on the retro solutions vs the ddm product. Also which wires did you actually splice the resistor into to prevent hyperflash. I know there are tons of writeups on this but I haven't seen any pics to compare color matching of the two. Thanks man....

Retro Solutions or DDM Tuning depending on what you want to spend.

Both are good companies.

Stick with the 4300 - 6000 spectrum. Anything other than those and you will hate the light output.

i think they match pretty good. and the wires are the two outside ones you splice into, doesn't matter which one you splice to which.

Im running 8k Headlight n fogs n they are very bright can see for miles never have to use high beams. I cant think of brand n ordered mine from auto elite out of indy great guys. Yea they kinda bright for on coming traffic but as long as i can see im good. There not really blue almost like a clean white if that makes sense. I have about 300 in both. I also have them in my wifes 2011 explorer.
