IS IT POSSIBLE AND WHAT PARTS ARE NEEDED???

Just got back from local dealership and here in town and was told adding an OEM navigation unit to my exisiting 2011 Xlt isn't possible! When I asked why I didn't get a clear answer that makes any sense. So I'm not giving up hope and was wondering If ANYBODY on here can give some input. First i was told I would need this, that, and other parts. When I pushed the issue the service advisor placed a call to Ford I assumed and after 20 minutes of what appeared to him being on hold since I didn't hear much convo he hangs up and looks at me and says,"Nope, Ford said it can't be done!" He couldn't give me an honest to good reason why so here I am.

It looks like it can be done, just Ford won't do it! They wouldn't give me a clear explanation why and I found that unnaceptable. I am currently on hold with FoMoCo to get an answer. It's fine if I can't go the OEM route, I just want the reason why you know.

for the money you will spend on the oem parts, why not get an Alpine or Pioneer unit that will do all the oem functions plus more... It is what I did and can not be happier with it

A good guy is willing to help me on the price of his oem nav. unit so I ventured off down this road...unfortunately Ford says if I do it it will void my warranty so...

Not sure I agree with this statement unless your swapped head unit causes a fire or something. You changing the head unit should have no effect on the warranty for other bumper-to-bumper covered items. Remember, warranty is covered unless the dealer can show the modification was the primary cause of the defect, damage or malfunction. Read this when you get some time. It discusses some warranty topics a little.

Before I found the truck I have now, we almost pulled the trigger on a 2011KR that had everything I wanted, minus the Nav System. Went round and round with the dealership, 2 people said they could, 2 people said it was impossible to add the OEM Unit to a truck that was built without it.... Not sure why, never got a clear answer why they couldn't but it worked out for the best, love my truck WITH Nav
