Sound system build complete

I just wanted to share my build. Here's the list

Clairon NX700 head unit with nav and time delay relay so I can watch video while on the road.

JL XD 600/1 for subs
JL XD 400/4 to highs
3- 8" JL W3 V2 dual voice coil in a ported box tuned to 35hz
JL C5 component 5x7's in the front doors and tweeters in factory door pillar
Added an extra set of 3/4 JL tweeters in the rear doors.
The sub box was pretty tight to get the airspace, but.... 2.3 cubes total. it's a little tight when I fold the rear seat up and down, so I'll have to just leave it up. Sucks cause I covered the box in black suede.... Oh well.
Also, I saw where everyone was removing the cab vents and just covering it with dynomat. I cut out some sheetmetal and sealed it into the truck. I used the duct tape to be able to put the patch on the outside and hold it from the inside.
I went back and forth on what sub to get. I wanted to put the JL 13, but the 8's outperform the single 13.

Here's some pictures that I took.

More pictures. It's a shame you can't see any of the box.

I also removed the factory USB plug and replaced it with the Clarion USB. it looks like it came from the factory.

Thanks guys, I put a lot of thought into it. The box wasn't that hard to build, I was just not excited about cutting my brand new truck.... but I did... It sounds great! The WOW factor using the 8's is cool. If I have to build another box, I don't think I would tune it to 35hz. It's too deep and a little boomy. I'm not into Ghetto bass. Again, it sounds great and I am my own worse critic.

Looks great. I have a garage full of stuff i pulled out of my f150 just waiting to get some spare time. How did you get through or around the molex plugs in the door? Or did you use the factory wires for the door speakers? Thanks man.

Factory wires. My truck did not have factory amp on highs. Made connection in dash.

Why do you guys want to cover the vents with dyno mat, what benefit does it serve? I assume a quieter ride....

I would also like to use the factory wires for the speakers so I didnt have to cut new holes for aftermarket speaker wires. Do you have a picture of what connections you made in the dash to accomplish this?

If I had a factory amp for the highs, what issues would I run into that you did not?
