FACTORY NAV: LOVE IT/GET IT or HATE IT/DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

Opinions, please, of the factory nav unit. With all the tech features, it will keep the boss occupied for hours on a road trip; she loves all the buttons and neat "geek" features of the new trucks. Just wondering if it was worth it or keep the stock radio and get a Garmin.

Not worried about cost factor; tacking another $1800 or so onto a $63,000 truck isn't much of a stretch. Just wondering it it's worth it. And, it beats the $2,200 ransom GM wants for their 8-track era dinosaur.

I opted out of the factory nav. I have a few friends that have it and hate it! Maps are all jacked up. Plus you can't watch DVD's unless you spend 350 for a lock pick. I just replaced the head unit with a Clarion NX 700. Nav, DVD, better sound, and better display. I have a friend that owns a stereo shop, so I only paid 550 for the radio. Cheaper and better than factory nav. If you keep the factory sub, it will sound much better also. I was disappointed that I lost Sync, but I"m still happy.

My truck came with the Nav unit and I really like it, but if I were to order a truck I would probably just order it with out it then take the $1800 put in a nice double din and sound system

Get the factory nav then call me and I will trade you for my kenwood dnx7180.

Not as simple to use. It has lots of features but it's easy to use. With all that said, I like it now better than I did 3 months ago when I first got it.

I like the garmin nav on it.

I would be wiling to trade my factory nav for it if your interested.

I have the nav and I like it. The functionality is great, and the display is actually veiwable in sunlight. I need to put the lockpick on it so as to get around the nanny's the prevent some functionality while driving, but I do like the nav/sync combo. I would buy it again...

The 2011 uses a different factory nav than the older trucks.
