LED running board lights

im going to install five amber led lights down each of my running boards planning on powering them from my running lights. do i need to put an inline fuse on the wire or a relay or something or am i good with just throwing the old t-tap on there? thanks

well i went ahead and did it the old fashioned way without the relay or fuse option. i tapped into the led light on my fender. if anyone wants pics you'll have to coach me through how to do that but i have a couple
