I had the navigation bypass on my 2010 6.4 with the factory navigation system. 2011 appears to identical, so I am wondering if my bypass will work on this unit. I took it off my 2010 when I traded it. Anybody have any experience with this?
Its a bypass for the navigation unit. It allows you to use the navigation, play DVDs, and user your back up camera while the truck is moving. Normally the truck has to be in park fit these features to work.
The only glitch with the bypass is using the navigation system with it on. Normally you can not enter an address into the the navigation system if the truck is moving. With the bypass on you can, BUT if you leave it in the bypass mode after you enter the address it will cause the trucks navigation system to go wacky and give you incorrect direction like turn left when you should really be turning right. What i do is turn the bypass on, enter the address and get it running on the screen, then turn the bypass off. Plays DVD's with no problem, and will turn on your back up camera as well.
Really you put a prius link on a diesel forum site. Even using the word is blasphemy.
