truck thinks the key is still in the ignition when it's not

bought this '04 f250 superduty 6.0 powerstroke 4x4 and there were no problems at first, but now when i take the key out and try to lock the door from the drivers seat, the sound chimes and will not let me lock the driver door.

the ignition will not turn with the key out, but i did notice that the factory alarm has been disabled... anyone have any ideas or a wiring diagram that would help me figure out what is problem? thanks in advance
